After a whole week off the UFC is back baby! Love a fight card on a Sunday that begins at 9pm eastern time. They are trying to have me not watch this card. It's times like this I really hate my compatriots on the left coast. This card(and every other card) always starts at a sensible 6 or 7pm pacific time which allows them still to have an evening after the event is over. I'm just bitter
Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira
Since his fight with the eventual interim champ Conor Mcgregor, Holloway has looked like an absolute world beater. Now he draws a bigger name in the frustrating Charles Oliveira. Oliveira is still pretty young considering the number of years he's been around, but considering how he burst onto the scene you can't call his UFC stint anything other than a disappointment. Any time he has gotten a step up in competition he hasn't been able to measure up. I think we've seen all of what "do Bronx" can be, while Holloway looks better and impresses in each fight. Holloway should be able to keep the distance and pick Oliveira apart. Holloway by TKO in 3rd.

Neil Magny vs. Erick Silva
Yes, Magny just fought two and half weeks ago. Yes, he got submitted pretty easily by Demian Maia. Let me tell you something else. He's not fighting Maia again, he's fighting another guy (like Oliveira above) who should be so much better but has has his ceiling exposed. Serve Silva up some lower tier scrub and he will light them up real nice and add more KOs to his highlight reel to sucker people into picking him when he fights someone who's good. That won't be me. Even with his pretty bad loss to Maia I still believe that Magny is a cut above your average guy in the division. That's what Silva is at this point, just another guy. Magny by decision.

Josh Burkman vs. Patrick Cote
As the latest one to the party in becoming an MMA fan, I didn't watch Burkman's first run through the UFC. The other guys seem to have some complementary things to say about him and the old fights he's had. However, what I've seen of Burkman is him getting WORKED by Hector Lombard and then losing his next fight. Suffice it to say I haven't been impressed by him and picking Cote. Although I did learn on the podcast that Burkman dated Ariany so he's a winner in my eyes. Cote by decision.

Chad Laprise vs. Francisco Trinaldo
Trinaldo will likely be one of underdogs on Draft Kings since he's pretty solid on the feet and ground. But the pick here has to be Laprise who has shown himself to be more technical fighter than Trinaldo. Classic example of the smarter fighter getting the W. Laprise by decision.

Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Tony Sims
Sims impressed with a KO over Steve Montgomery in his first fight with the promotion. While I would love to pick the Tristar product Olivier Aubin-Mercier AKA "Mr. Steal your girl" AKA "My name sounds like it should be on cologne" who is 2-1 in the UFC, I'm going to side with the KO power of Sim, even on short notice. Sims by KO in 2nd.

Valerie Letourneau vs. Maryna Moroz
Moroz beat one of the darlings of the women's straw weight division, Jojo Calderwood so that get's her some attention for sure. Normally in this situation I would pick the girl who in beating one of the division's best over the unknown girl. But Valerie has her beat and let me tell you why. Valerie Letourneau has likely for the last 20 years had to endure endless questions about whether she's related(she isn't, at least from the 5 minute google search I did) to one-half of America's love story, Mary Kay Letourneau. Sharing the same distinctive last name to one of the most famous pedophiles from the late 90's has to make you a hard woman and someone you don't want to mess with. Another person you wouldn't want to run into is Michael Bolton from Office Space. That guy would mess you up. Letourneau by decision.
